Skills Based Learning

Our new topic is ‘Out of this World’. We have enjoyed looking beyond our own planet to see what is out there.

During Skills Based Learning we carry out lots of activities which cover each area of the curriculum.

Maths

We are tackling a Space investigation during SBL. In class we are also learning about time using the 24- hour clock.

Literacy

Finding out about our solar system requires us to read and gather information.

Art

We are using various techniques to create beautiful pieces of art about our Space topic.

Science

Our Science investigation challenges us to create a ‘rocket mouse’ that we can shoot into space. It is important that our design is appealing, whilst also being aerodynamic.

Music

P6 are so delighted to be a part of the choir in our upcoming production of Mary Poppins Jnr. We have a lot of songs to learn, but we are up for the challenge.

Skills Based Learning

P6 have enjoyed learning about their new topic ‘Violent Earth’. Each Friday both classes join together and participate in a range of active learning tasks. This is an opportunity for us to show our creativity, work together and demonstrate problem solving skills.

Numeracy

We have been working hard using long multiplication and have now started looking at multiples and factors. All of our hard work with Times Tables Rockstars is paying off!

Literacy

P6 love engaging with our Guided Reading lessons. It is so fun to read together and talk about our books. We are also looking at recount writing and will have an opportunity to write about our visits during The Comber History Trail.

Useful Information

We are coming up to a very busy time in school with carol services and fun learning opportunities. Keep an eye on Seesaw and parent emails to see what is going on!
