Welcome back to another New Term from all of us at AMPS PTA!

We would especially like to welcome all the new families joining us for the first time – we truly hope you feel at home already and are looking forward to an action-packed school year.
It was very encouraging to see so many gathered out for the first PTA meeting of the year
on Thursday 7th September, for our AGM the following week and our first 3pm meeting in the DigiHub! Particular thanks to our new Principal, Mr Colin Fulton, for hosting both meetings. We are very glad to have his backing and support going forward, in our fundraising efforts for the school.

Fundraising is obviously one of the major reasons behind having a PTA. We are all aware of
how the political landscape in our country has effected what schools, such as ours, receive
in funding from the Department of Education. Put simply: It’s not enough. That’s why we feel
it is important to have a PTA, enabling our children to have access to the very best learning
resources, equipment and apparatus both inside and outside the classroom, as well as
fantastic and fun-filled experiences.

Our PTA is not just about raising money, believe it or not! Individually we are parents, grandparents
and teachers but together we are a community. It’s great to feel part of something
positive, so please take this as your cue to feel great too, as we extend a very warm
invitation to join us this year. Whether you’ve been with us before or have never been on the
PTA – you are welcome! We understand everyone is busy and it might not always be possible
to attend a meeting but don’t let that put you off! Join the PTA associates group where you
can volunteer to lend a hand at the events that suit you and be kept up to date with
everything that’s happening. If this is something you’d like to be involved in, simply
‘Whatsapp’ Chairperson Debbie McLaughlin on 07734 868388 to be added to the associates
group.
