Primary 1

We are having a great time in P1! The children are settling well into the routine of school and are making new friends. We are so proud of them all! It’s hard to believe that we’ve only been here a few weeks!

We have already been very busy and we wanted to show you what we have been up to.

We have enjoyed playing with all the activities in our classrooms and in the activity area.

We visited the school orchard to harvest the apples to make apple jam. We loved finding out about how the apples grow on the trees and how this is the perfect time of year to pick them!

The apple jam was delicious!

We have been fortunate with the weather so far and have been able to enjoy lots of activities and play outdoors!

Well, its hard to believe we are here! We have made it to the end of June and what a busy time we have had! After our Sports Day and Jubilee Party, we enjoyed our ’Be Yourself’ picnic.

We also had a visit from Valentine and Chris, who told us all about their honey bees. They brought them in a glass hive which was absolutely incredible! We learnt about the different jobs that the bees have in the hive and we were able to see the Queen Bee. We tasted some of their delicious honey too!

Joe from Bara Bakehouse in Comber came to show us how to make bread. He taught us about the ingredients needed to make dough. We used four ingredients and each child made their own dough. We had a fantastic time! Thank you to Joe for giving up his precious time to teach us this skill!

Thank you all so much for all your support. We have had a wonderful year and the children are looking forward to moving on into P2. We would like to wish you a very happy, relaxing summer holiday.
