What a brilliant first half-term of P7 we’ve had! There’s been super effort put in from all of the children; working really hard and having lots of fun, too. Well done all round!

Here are a few highlights of what we’ve been up to this half-term… they get spookier as they go along!

We’ve produced some awesome artwork

We have created some beautiful artwork. Our Victorian silhouettes – part of our Victorians history topic – are one of our favourites this half-term!

We’re becoming more Eco-aware!

Our Geography topic is Eco-Warriors and we’ve been learning about how long it takes for different litter to decompose, how we can sort our litter to recycle, and have explored the different categories of plastics.

This half-term’s PERMA people of interest…

Each month, we have an inspirational Person of Interest who we feel embodies the five pillars of PERMA (positivity, engagement, relationships, meaning and achievement). We learn all about these people’s stories and journeys, and discuss what we can learn from the example they have set. Our September Person of Interest was Rosa Parks and our October Person of Interest was Mahatma Gandhi.

We’ve created some Lovely Limericks!

We explored Limericks and their structure and rhythm. Paying close attention to syllables, we experimented with our own and then wrote some spooky Hallowe’en ones, with some haunted house artwork to finish them off! Limericks are brilliant when read aloud, too.

And we made it out of the Hallowe’en escape room challenge!

We worked in groups to complete several logic and PE-based challenges, all spookily linked to Hallowe’en, cracking codes and solving riddles to get our hands on a key to escape the room (or playground)!
