Our P6 residential to the Share Centre, Lisnaskea, Co. Fermanagh, was fantastic! The weather was amazing, the children and staff were amazing and everyone had a great time. Outdoor pursuit trips are all about having a go, trying new things, pushing yourself and sharing new experiences with your pals. The children really bought into the spirit of the activities and the place. Lough Erne was at its best!
Just for starters, here we all are before heading home – happy and fulfilled!

We did tweet a lot during the week, but we’ll add a few collages here soon – so many to choose from! The children took part in kayaking, canoeing, jetty jumping, being towed by a speedboat, t-shirt making, laser shooting, indoor climbing, team games, the nightline, a movie night and toast eating. Toast eating is very important. It fuels all the rest of the fun!
Oh, and there were ice-creams enjoyed, too!

For those familiar with our school, the fact that we believe passionately in providing creative opportunities for our children will be well known. Perhaps most significantly, this is borne out with our annual school production, or ‘P7 play’, as the children like to call it.
This year, though, it was a P5, 6 and 7 play, with the actors coming from P7 and the large choir being made up from the children in P5 and 6.
And what a production it was – the Lion King in all its glory!
Mesmeric, atmospheric, colourful, romantic, visually spectacular – from the very first note, the first swell of volume from the choir and the lights going up as the curtain opened, we knew we were in for a treat.
Behind the scenes, the team of staff was fantastic. Even getting the children onto the stage took a huge collective effort among the face-painting crew, including some mums.
Another massive plus was the support from the PTA, with their supply of refreshments. Delicious treats always, well, go down a treat!
Showcasing our school family through events like these is so, so important for all involved and we are indebted to Mrs Nicola Martin, Director, and Mrs Lynsey Ambrose, Musical Director, for their vision, commitment and passion in making the show happen. Also, with new lights and sound adding impact, the bar has been raised to new heights!
To the children, their parents and families, and to everyone who works at AMPS, thank you for the memories and we’re already looking forward to next year’s production – as always, it will, just like this one, be the ‘best P7 play ever’!
